What is BDD?
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a disabling preoccupation with perceived defects or flaws in appearance. It affects both men and women equally. It makes people overly self-conscious causing them to check their appearance repeatedly and try to cover up, camouflage or alter the defects they see. They often seek out and undergoing unnecessary cosmetic treatments. Their friends and family are often unable to understand because they do not see what the person with BDD sees. BDD can lead to extreme distress and can make it very difficult for them to cope with life.

ONLINE THERAPY
All treatment sessions are being run using Zoom. I have found this to be a very effective way of treating BDD. Initial sessions can also be by phone if you are not ready to use video.
The first step in treatment is a phone assessment. This will enable us to get a good understanding of the problem and what the treatment program will look like. Treatment will then be a series of weekly CBT sessions to enable you to overcome your Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
